Cloud & DevOps Engineering

Become the engineer who gets software to production and keeps it running. You learn modern cloud and DevOps practice hands-on — pipelines, containers, infrastructure-as-code and observability — automating with Python and Bash instead of clicking through consoles. Part-time, project-driven, taught by practitioners.

What you'll learn

  • Linux, the command line, and automation with Python and Bash
  • Docker and Kubernetes: building, running and orchestrating containers
  • CI/CD pipelines that build, test and deploy on every commit
  • Infrastructure-as-code and configuration with Terraform and Ansible on AWS and GCP
  • Observability: metrics, logs, alerts and on-call fundamentals
  • Working AI-natively: drafting IaC, pipelines and runbooks with AI agents — reviewed and verified before anything applies
AI-native by default

The AI classes in this program

Every Lightspace program teaches the AI-native method — not a bolt-on module, but a working style woven through the projects.

  • AI agents for ops: drafting Terraform, Ansible playbooks, pipelines and runbooks with review discipline
  • The agent loop for infrastructure: nothing applies until reviewed and verified
  • Context engineering for infrastructure repos — conventions and project memory agents can follow
  • AI-assisted incident debugging and log analysis

The curriculum

  1. 1

    Foundations

    Weeks 1–3

Linux, the shell, networking basics, Git, and scripting with Python and Bash to automate real tasks.

  2. 2

    Containers & CI/CD

    Weeks 4–6

Docker images, registries, and pipelines that build, test and ship automatically with GitHub Actions.

  3. 3

    Cloud & infrastructure-as-code

    Weeks 7–9

Deploying to AWS and GCP, Kubernetes fundamentals, provisioning with Terraform, and configuration management with Ansible.

  4. 4

    Operate & ship

    Weeks 10–12

Monitoring, logging, alerting and cost control, then a capstone production deployment you present and defend.

What you leave with

  • A deployed, containerised app with a full CI/CD pipeline and IaC
  • The judgement to design reliable, cost-aware cloud infrastructure
  • A portfolio and vocabulary that pass a DevOps/SRE interview
